The first opportunity for training will take place on Sunday 5 June, from 1000 - 1400hrs at the Saddledome.
The opportunity that we have available for the Stampeders football season is as a member of our Condiment Cart team. This position requires a total of 8 workers, this is ideal for under age workers as but not limited to the under 18 workers. Ideally there would be one older worker on each team to keep the group motivated and focused. This is a new position this year and has been created to ensure that the guest experience is at an optimum level on all fronts.
- Two teams of four patrol both the East and West side of the building during Stampeders Football games
- Their main function is to ensure that the condiment carts are cleaned as needed (throwing out garbage, wiping down the cart with sanitizer, restocking condiments and napkins as required.)
- There may be empty beer cans that will need to be disposed of, if this is an issue, I would suggest that one of the team members be over the age of 18.
- This position pays a flat rate of $65.00/person per game to a maximum of $520.00 per game.
We have an employee who will be the point person for the teams to ensure that they know where to acquire all of their supplies.
As this is primarily for the football season there is the opportunity to continue on with the program, in the fall, for the Calgary Flames hockey games. All groups, in the program have first right of refusal for shifts in the upcoming season, by participating in the McMahon program you now become one of those groups.
Training:
All participants, in the program, will be required to attend a basic orientation. This orientation covers:
- Basic information including parking, uniform, start times and policies and procedures.
- Limited Tour of the Saddledome and Till training on the quest point of sale system
- Responsible Alcohol Sales – All participants no matter their age must attend the Alcohol training.
Going forward, there will be more basic training sessions offered over the summer and leading up to the beginning of the hockey season.
As well, all participants, over the age of 18, must take ProServe certification. This is a provincial certification offered free to fundraising groups. You will require a signed copy of the fundraiser agreement to get your people set up with the free training. You will need to send the agreement and a list of volunteers who will require the training to info@proserve.aglc.ca.
Uniform - for shifts at McMahon Stadium:
- Dark pants; black is preferred and black denim is allowed at the stadium. Blue jeans are not allowed at the stadium. If the weather is warm, shorts are allowed, but must reach the knee in length and must be dark coloured.
- White shirt, may be a golf shirt or a t-shirt, but be clean and wrinkle free. There are no tank tops permitted. All shirts must have sleeves.
- Shoes - rubber soled shoes are suggested. All shoes must be close toed (no Crocs) and socks or stockings must be worn at all times.
- Hoop earrings are not permitted; all jewelry must be small and tasteful; no excessive rings or piercings.
We supply a black apron and a "working with the Community Fundraising Volunteer" pass to all workers. As the stadium is an outdoor venue, please dress appropriately for the weather. Jackets may be worn under the apron if weather is inclement.
