Spetember 16 and 17

We have 3 important activities the weekend of September 16, 2017

*The Casino fundraiser through which the Corps hopes to earn at least $70,000. This is our most lucrative semi-annual fundraiser.

*Senior FTX  for Cadets, staff and civilian volunteers

*Stamps Game on September 16 from 3:30-8:00 pm, annually we earn over $10,000 from volunteering at these games.
The Casino is the largest single fundraising event that we can participate in. It is through the AGLC and we apply for the anywhere from 18-24 months ahead of time, with the date being assigned to us 6-9 months in advance. This is a two day event running September 16 and 17. Planning for this is going well and it looks like we have all shifts covered on both days. Margaret our President will be calling all participants to confirm times and dates over the next few days.

The Executive had decided late in August to approve the Sept 16, FTX as we know that this is what Cadets and parents are looking for out of the Cadet program. This FTX is not sponsored by DND and will come in at a cost of around $2500.00 for accommodations and transportation.
We discussed with Cv Cruickshank our Stamps/Flames volunteer coordinator if we could back out of the Stamps game on the 16th. This is not an option. The relationship with the Stamps/Flames organization must remain firm and we do not want to lose this fundraising opportunity for the future. We need volunteers for the September 16th game and future games.
Funds from the games help to cover items such as the mess dinner, ACR and year end dinner with a cost of  $3000-$5000 each, we do not receive funding through DND for these activities, but they are a key part of the Cadet program.

We know the weekend of September 16 and 17, is crazy with so many activities and we have had parents say that they are not pleased with this. However we did not have the foresight to realize that we would have a Stamps game on the same weekend as the Casino, which was scheduled almost a year ago. We also did not want to deny the Cadets an opportunity for an additional weekend FTX.

We encourage you to consider signing up for the Stamps game. Below is the link, I have also attached the playbook with any additional info that you may need.
