We are looking forward to serving with you at the Calgary Processing Center this Christmas season! Please read the following information carefully. Group leaders, please share this information with your group members.
You or your group is scheduled for the following shift:

Saturday November 25, 2017 from 7:00PM to 9:30PM

Please download, complete and bring with you the following forms when you come to the Processing Center. Forms should be completed in advance.

Youth Volunteers under 18:
- All volunteers must be 14 years of age, regardless of a student’s grade level.
- For youth volunteers between the ages of 14 -17, a minimum ratio of 1 adult chaperone per 5 youth is mandatory.
Arrival Time: Plan to arrive 15 minutes prior to your shift. It takes time to check-in and get settled.
To Check In:
- Please meet in the main lobby of Samaritan's Purse upon your arrival. I will collect the Short-Term Volunteer Release Form from you and then you can proceed to get your name tag.
- Name Tags: Complete a nametag for yourself at any of the nametag tables located down the coat hallway and proceed to the Training Room.
- Training will commence promptly in Training Room located behind Reception at the start of each shift. Each volunteer is required to complete the 2017 Training Session only once during the processing season.
- Special Jobs on the warehouse floor, i.e. packing, will be assigned prior to the training session. If you would like to volunteer for one of those jobs, please arrive 15 minutes early and identify yourself to the receptionist.
Other Important Tips:
- Leave valuables locked in your vehicle or at home.
- Wear warm, comfortable clothing.
- Only bottled water is allowed in the Training Room or Warehouse Processing Floor.
- Closed-toe shoes are mandatory.
- Six volunteers per inspection table.
- CASH ONLY for Operation Christmas Child merchandise.
Directions:
- Our address is 20 Hopewell Way NE.
- We are located on the NE corner of McKnight Blvd and Barlow Trail, behind the Sandman Inn with access from Barlow Trail off 48 Avenue.
- On-site parking is available, however, carpooling is recommended.
Pack a Shoebox (this is completely optional!!)
- Bring a packed shoebox gift when you come for your volunteer shift.
- If you’ve never packed a shoebox gift, learn how to pack shoeboxes here.
- Bringing more than 10 packed shoebox gifts, please drop them off at shipping and receiving department at the back of the building. Fewer than 10 boxes can be dropped off at the volunteer entrance.
