ALPINE TOUR REGIONAL EXPEDITION (APPLY NOW!)



Expeditions are conducted within the Army Cadet Program to develop leadership skills while enhancing individual self-concepts such as self-confidence, self-reliance, self-esteem, and self-discipline.

Our Region will conduct regional expedition Alpine Tour for twelve (12) selected gold star qualified cadets in and around Canmore, Alberta and Banff National Park from 15-26 March 2018. The expedition will take place over seven (7) days and include: winter camping, snowshoe touring, and ice and mixed climbing. Cadets will also complete a one (1) day level 1 Avalanche Skills Training course.

Cadets must meet the following selection criteria:

(1) be gold star qualified;
(2) be at least 15 years of age by 16 Mar 18;
(3) have successfully completed both silver and gold star expedition training;
(4) have attained at minimum bronze incentive level of a 16 year old for
their gender in the Cadet Fitness Assessment and Incentive Program (CFAIP) qualified not earlier than 1 Nov 17;
(5) be medically fit IAW CATO 16-02 and have no medical restrictions; and
(6) priority will be given to those cadets who have not yet participated
in a regional expedition.
