VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT REMEMBRANCE DAY


2137 Calgary Highlanders RCACC will participate in the Remembrance Day Ceremonies at the Cenotaph on 11 November 2017.

Pursuing our traditions, 2137 Calgary Highlanders support our Veterans and show their respect and appreciation for their sacrifices in defending our freedom by offering the participation of a Guard, a group of Supporters and Wreath Escorts for the Ceremony.

All 2137 Cadets are part of this event and belong to one of these groups.

See below in which group you will participate.

Parents are encouraged to stay and watch the ceremony.

My rank is Master Corporal or above, I am part of the Guard and I will march with the Regiment

Timings: 8:45am to 12:00pm

Where: Meet at Mewata for 0845hrs. Dismissal will be from Mewata at 1200hrs

Dress: C1/H1; You will be outdoors for the duration of the ceremony. Dress for the weather! If you have your cadet parka, wear that and your issued black gloves. Otherwise, wear a winter jacket and gloves.

OIC (Officer-in-Charge): Captain Ellis

Additional Info: Ensure you have had a proper breakfast and are well hydrated. You will be outdoors for the duration of the ceremony. Please dress for the weather.

My rank is New Cadet, Lance Corporal or Corporal, I am part of the Supporters and I will be participant to the Ceremony

Timings: 10:00am to 12:00pm

Where: Meet at the Cenotaph on 12th Ave and 4th St SW for 1000hrs. Dismissal will be at the Cenotaph.

Dress: C1/H1; dress for the weather! If you have your cadet parka, wear that and your issued black gloves. Otherwise, wear a winter jacket and gloves.

I have been asked by a Corps Officer to be a Wreath Escort

I will assist a VIP to carry wreaths and flowers during the Ceremony

Timings: Meet at Cenotaph for 1000hrs. Dismissal will be 1145hrs from the Cenotaph.

OIC: MWO Downey

Dress: C1/H1. You will be outdoors for the duration of the ceremony. Dress for the weather! If you have your cadet parka, wear that and your issued black gloves. Otherwise, wear a winter jacket and gloves.
