UPDATES ABOUT THE FALL FTX: 14-16 SEP

 FALL FIELD TRAINING EXERCISE (FTX)


This exercise will cover basic field skills depending on the star level of the cadet. These skills include but are not limited to, how to set up a bivouac site, how to set up and take down tents, leave no trace camping, using GPS to determine location and map a route. For more advanced cadets, this will be an experience for new responsibilities and opportunities to develop leadership skills!

Where: The exercise will take place at the Grouse Group Campsite in the beautiful Bow Valley PP.
You will be transported to the site by bus on Friday and will return by bus on Sunday (See Timings below).

What to bring on Thursday:
Cpl and below must bring their kits for kit check this Thursday 13 Sept 18.
Kit check is used to make sure all cadets have sufficient kit for them to have a safe and fun exercise.

What to bring on Friday:
If you are MCpl and above, you bring your entire kit;
If you are Cpl and below, bring your kit AND the items you may have missed during the kit check.
Make sure you already had supper before you arrive on Friday!!!

Timings:
a) Cadets must be at Mewata, ready for departure with their personal kit
Friday 14 Sept 18 @ 1730 (5:30PM)
b) Cadets will be back at Mewata and will be dismissed on
Sunday 16 Sept 18 @ 1530 (3:30PM)

Cadets will be provided with MREs (Meals ready to eat, also known as rations) and vegetarian options are available.

They will be sleep outdoors, in tents or improvised shelters. In case of extreme conditions or any concern, the group has access to a hard shelter.

We noticed that the forecast is for cold and wet temperature. Weather appropriate clothing is a must!
