MISSION
RCSU (NW) will conduct regional expedition Alpine Tour for twelve (12) selected gold star qualified cadets in and around Canmore, Alberta and Banff National Park from 15-24 March 2019. The expedition will take place over seven (9) days and include: winter camping, snowshoe touring, ice and mixed climbing, and dog sledding. Cadets will also complete a one (1) day level 1 Avalanche Skills Training course.
ADMINSTRATIVE INSTRUCTIONS
Regarding prospective cadets:
a. must meet the following eligibility criteria:
(1) be gold star qualified;
(2) be at least 15 years of age by 15 Mar 19;
(3) have successfully completed both silver (PO326) and gold star (PO426) expedition training;
(4) have attained at minimum bronze incentive level of a 16 year old for their gender in the Cadet Fitness Assessment and Incentive Program (CFAIP) qualified not earlier than 1 Nov 18;
(5) be medically fit IAW CATO 16-02 and have no medical restrictions; and
(6) priority will be given to those cadets who have not yet participated in a regional expedition;
All Cadets interested in participating in this Regional Expedition should identify themselves to your Level officer, Training staff or the DCO.
The deadline for applications is 14 January 2019.
