Hi everyone,
I hope you have all enjoyed your summer so far! Labour Day is coming up quick (this weekend!!) and so are the Calgary Highland Games! This year, the games will be held at the Calgary Rugby Union. The Highland Games offers our corps (free of charge) to set up a recruiting booth at the Games. In lieu of charging our corps a fee, we offer to supply volunteers for the Games. In addition, we have also secured recycling all the bottles at these games this year. What does this mean to us? Essentially, it's our corps first bottle drive of the year, but we don't have to drop off any flyers and we don't have to drive around to pick up bottles! There will be pop/bottle recycling bins set up and any bottles deposited in those bins will go towards our corps - what fantastic support and a great kick off to the start of the cadet year! Now, we will need cadets and parents to help with the recycling (collecting the bags at the Games and bringing them to a designated drop off), AS WELL AS fill in some empty volunteer spots. We are looking for at least another 15 - 20 parents, friends, family, cadets to fill these outstanding volunteer positions. To sign up, please click on the following link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CHGVoln2018. If you want to help out with the recycling, please select "Volunteer Tent" under Question #6. At which activity would you be interested in volunteering?. Please write (2137 RCACC) after your last name to indicate you are with our corps. If you are interested in volunteering for other positions, please select the one that interests you the most. Everyone, please share this post with as many people as you can! The Highland Games is run completely by volunteers, and without them, the Games wouldn't be a go! Please consider helping out at this amazing cultural event!!!
Your support of our program is greatly appreciated! Helping out at events like these allows our corps to augment our supported training with additional FTXs, one-day activities/training, etc. THANK-YOU!
